The Portuguese National Contact Point for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises (PT NCP) works at the Directorate-General for Economic Activities (DGAE) in conjunction with the Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal (aicep Portugal Global), with the aim of helping companies and stakeholders to adopt appropriate measures for the promotion and implementation of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.
The National Contact Points (NCPs) are mandated to promote the implementation of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and provide a non-judicial mediation and conciliation platform for the resolution of complaints against companies about alleged non-compliance with the Guidelines. Thus, any individual or organization that considers that a company's actions or activities are not consistent with the Guidelines, can file a formal complaint with the NCP based in one of the countries where that company operates.
